Restaurants in town
There are several award winning restaurants in Verbier. The restaurant in the 5* Chalet d’Adrien has a Michelin Star and stunning views; Le Vieux Verbier is based at the bottom of the main lift station in town and offers the famous ‘Potence’ (meat on a hot rack); Le Millennium offers modern Asian fusion food and extremely friendly service. Le Sonalon is a little out of town and boasts great views above the village which can be admired while relishing the best chilli fondue and nettle soup in town; One of the oldest restaurants in Verbier, Le Carrefour is one of the few to which you can ski to and then leave by bus. There you can enjoy meat on hot stones with south-facing views and a sun baked terrace; Le Rouge restaurant and club is another restaurant you can ski to, with great wines and a vast sunny terrace which gets especially busy at après-ski time with a live DJ; For modern cuisine in contemporary surroundings, go to the Nevai and Kings restaurants, where you can enjoy professionally-made cocktails before your dinner. Al Capone and Le Fer a Cheval are two favourites for more casual dining and pizza.
Mountain restaurants
Verbier does not have a vast array of mountain restaurants, but there are a few that are worth mentioning for their views, location and cuisine. La Marmotte is set up high above the village and is famous for its torch-lit descent on sledges after dinner. It is only accessible by skidoo in the winter evenings! In the same vein you can access the traditional and cosy La Marlenaz off piste from Savoleyres for some stunning views. Cabane du Mont-Fort is a proper mountain refuge. The sunny terrace views are arguably one of the best on the mountain! l’Olympique, set conveniently at the top of the Funispace lift offers fantastic table service and eating surroundings and breathtaking panorama. Chez Dany is on the run down to Medran and is hidden in the trees. It is a superb spot to escape from the pistes and soak in the splendid view. Le Cristal offers an innovative menu and fine wines with an exceptional view.
Après-ski and nightlife
The Farinet has two different bars: the Après Ski Bar kicks off with early live bands and a rocking sun terrace, whilst the Lounge Bar is a trendy celebrity-spotting haunt and the place to be seen in Verbier and hosts famous DJs from all over. Le Rouge is also popular for its sunny terrace and live DJs. The oldest pub in Verbier, the Pub Mt Fort is a Verbier institution which attracts a younger crowd and also offers tasty pub food – busy from après-ski until the end of the night. Le Fer a Cheval and Crock No Name and T-Bar are all very popular with the locals. For night clubs visit the small and intimate Coup d’ Etat or the stylish Casbah which are more affordable than the famous Farm Club attracting a high-end clientele. Worth checking out!
