Introduction
The Travelski Express is essentially the Eurostar Ski Train, but privately chartered by a French tour operator, Travelski. Travelski is owned by Compagnie des Alps, which operates ski lifts in a number of French resorts.
Whereas the Eurostar Ski Train was two trains each way per week, (a daytime train and an overnight train) the Travelski Express is just one. The outbound journey departs London on Saturday mornings, travelling daytime to the French Alps. The return journey departs the Alps on Saturday evenings, travelling overnight back to London and arriving into St Pancras on Sunday mornings.
One of the key difference is that you can only buy seats on the Travelski Express as part of a Travelski package of train, transfer, accommodation and 7-day ski pass.
Step 1: Take the Travelski Express to the Alps
The Travelski Express, being direct, is the simplest of journeys.
You get on, and 7-8 hours later you get off, in the Alps, a short transfer from lots of great resorts.
The outbound journey is daytime — scenic and relaxed.
The return journey is overnight. The Travelski Express (which is the Eurostar Ski Train, but privately chartered) doesn't have flat beds, only sit up seats. This can make it difficult to get a comfortable night's sleep — or for some people, much sleep at all. However, you'll have had an extra days' skiing and a good meal, no doubt, before boarding the train. So that should make sleeping more likely.
In line with previous Eurostar policy, alcohol is banned on the overnight train, but permitted on the daytime service.
Step 2: Transfer to your resort
Once you arrive, there's the relatively short transfer the train station to the ski resort. These transfers are typically between 30 minutes and 50 minutes, and are far shorter than airport transfers - which can take anywhere from 1.5 to 3 hours - or even longer.
For winter 2022-23, packages with Travelski Express include a transfer to the door your accommodation. Last season some transfers were just to the resort villlage centre, so the to-the-door service is a big improvement.
It's certainly an advantage that Travelski is providing transfers, because it means that when the train arrives, you are straight into the transfer vehicle and on your way up to the resort.

On Saturday 7th January, the journey back to the UK is overnight (as usual).
