St Gervais - village

As Saint-Gervais encompasses four villages, it’s important to establish what you want from your stay when deciding where to stay.

Keen skiers should stay in Le Bettex for slopeside access, select a property near the Saint-Gervais-Bettex gondola or stay in St-Nicholas for quick access to the lifts up towards Mont Joux. Non-skiers should make the most of the charming town of Saint-Gervais and find a centrally-located property.

Accommodation

There’s a good choice of accommodation spread across the four towns and villages of Saint-Gervais ranging from simple hotels to B&Bs and self-catering apartments.

The catered Chalet Roches (020 7096 1666) offers great value for money, the charming working farm and chalet La Ferme de Cupelin (00 33 450 93 47 30) makes for a quirky base, and Peak Retreats (0844 576 0170) offers some self-catered apartments in town.

Ski/snowboard equipment hire

Intersport has outlets in Saint-Gervais and Le Bettex. Both have extensive selections of equipment. Book your kit online to qualify for a reduction.

Non-ski activities

Les Thermes de Saint-Gervais-les-Bains (00 33 450 47 54 57) is the biggest non-ski draw for visitors to the resort, with extensive facilities that include thermal baths, saunas, steam rooms and spa treatments as well as more medical treatments. You can book wellness packages through the spa that incorporate accommodation, guided hiking or skiing and massage treatments.

There’s also great shopping and markets in Saint-Gervais as well as snowshoeing, paragliding and speedriding, climbing, curling and ice-skating. 

Childcare

In Saint-Gervais itself, the MJC Centre (00 33 450 47 73 40) cares for children aged 4-12 during French school holidays. There’s a Crèche in Le Bettex for kids from 6 months to 6 years (00 33 450 93 14 81), which is open throughout the winter season, and another nursery in St-Nicolas for 2-6 year-olds (00 33 450 93 23 90).
