Nick says: "I have travelled to the Alps using both the Eurostar "Ski Train" and using Eurostar to Paris followed by SNCF sleeper train. Whilst the Eurostar/SNCF combination is a little more complicated, it does give you the opportunity to have a lovely meal in Paris (we chose to go to Le Train Bleu restaurant at Gare de Lyon, which whilst a little expensive was fabulous) and the couchette was comfortable enough to have a good night’s sleep and arrives in Bourg St.Maurice at 07:49, which is perfect as the Funicular usually opens at 07:45.

"We found the information on your website regarding travelling to Les Arcs was invaluable. In particular, by ordering our lift passes on-line we were able to collect them at the Funicular office in Bourg St.Maurice and therefore use the Funicular for free as it's covered by the lift pass. Information regarding the free shuttle buses to Arc 1800 and Arc 2000 was a relief as the last time I visited I ended up walking as I didn't realise there were shuttle buses.

"We stayed in Arc 1800 and had a lovely time. If you want to eat out, our advice would be to book a restauurant at least the night before to make sure your not disappointed.

"There were a lot of nice blue runs, challenging enough in parts without being boring. The numerous red runs range from difficult reds to easy blacks and I would therefore recommend this resort for more intermediate skiers. The resort as a whole was very well kept, with regular snow clearance from the roads, gritting on the paths and beautifully pisted runs."
